The Pride Parade is a time when our community marches together down Elmwood Avenue in celebration of our history and culture, and as a visible representation of the multiple ways there are to be LBGTQ in WNY. With more than 100 organizations participating, it’s a great opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind float. Or, watch the floats go by from the sidelines with your friends, family and chosen family for a day of fun you won’t forget.
This year’s Pride Parade theme is Icons and Heroes! And yes, this is up to your own interpretation. Recognize a local LGBTQ community leader, pay tribute to your favorite queer artist, recreate an event that made history, produce live-action superhero fan fiction — whatever you do, just run with it!
Line-up begins on Buffalo State campus. For spectators, the parade begins at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Forest Avenue and continues down Elmwood, ending at the corner of Allen Street. Participants and attendees are encouraged to take the NFTA train from either the Allen Street/Medical Campus Station or the Fountain Plaza Station district to the Pride Festival at Canalside.
